Booking a private jet is one thing. Keeping a client for six years is another. Mr. Zuckerman shares what keeps him coming back.
Running into a client at Casa de Campo’s Food & Wine Festival isn’t entirely unusual. But when Vanesa Cueto spotted Mr. Zuckerman, a client she’s worked with since 2020, she took the opportunity to ask him a few questions.
The conversation started with his first experience flying private, back when a demanding schedule left him with very few options.

Mr. Zuckerman, when was the first time you ever flew private?
Mr. Zuckerman
In about 2014, 2015, when I was running a private equity fund. I had to get to three cities in one day because I had a major meeting at the end, and I couldn’t do all three unless I flew private.

And what is it about flying private that made you want to continue doing this throughout your life?
Mr. Zuckerman
Because the stress of flying isn’t the airplanes; it’s the airports. It’s security. It’s customs. It’s delays. It’s the airport, you know, everything.
The problem with traveling isn’t flying; it’s always the airport. Flying private takes care of that issue.
It’s a simple answer, and one that says plenty about the kind of relationship Vanesa builds with her clients.
Finding the right aircraft and securing fair pricing are part of the job. Being someone they trust, and continue to call, is what makes it last.
